1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make sites work, to remember preferences, and to provide information to site owners. Similar technologies such as local storage and tracking pixels work in comparable ways, and this policy covers those too.

2. How this Site uses cookies

JoeyBorden.com is a single-page site with a contact form. It does not set advertising cookies and does not use cookies to build a profile of you across other websites. The cookies you may encounter come from the small number of third-party services the Site relies on.

3. Categories of cookies

Strictly necessary

These are required for the Site to function, such as those used by the web host to keep the Site secure and available. The Site cannot work properly without them.

Functional

These remember choices you make to improve your experience. Vimeo, which hosts the video on the home page, uses cookies to remember playback preferences such as volume and quality.

Analytics and performance

These help understand how visitors use a site, for example which pages are viewed most. Vimeo collects its own playback statistics for the embedded video. If I add a general analytics tool in future, this policy will be updated to say so.

Advertising

This Site does not currently set advertising or retargeting cookies.

4. Third-party services

Vimeo — hosts the video embedded on the home page and may set cookies for playback preferences and viewing statistics.
Google Fonts — serves the typefaces used across the Site. Requesting a font sends your IP address to Google.
Web hosting — my host may set strictly necessary cookies and keep standard server logs for security and performance.

I do not control cookies set by these third parties. Their use of data is governed by their own privacy and cookie policies.

5. Managing cookies

You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you refuse cookies entirely, accept only some, or clear those already stored. Blocking cookies may stop parts of this or other sites from working properly — for example, the embedded video may not play correctly.

Browser instructions are usually found under Settings, then Privacy or Security. Note that settings apply per browser and per device, so you will need to repeat them on each one you use.

6. Changes to this policy

I may update this policy as the Site changes. The revised version takes effect when posted on this page, and the effective date above will be updated.
